Connect Google's 3D map

BeeRadar draws your bees over Google's photorealistic 3D map. You need your own Google Maps Platform key with the Map Tiles API switched on.

1. Open the Google Cloud console (console.cloud.google.com), create or pick a project and turn on billing.
2. APIs & Services → Library → enable Map Tiles API.
3. APIs & Services → Credentials → Create credentials → API key.
4. Restrict the key: under API restrictions allow only Map Tiles API. If you open this file straight from your computer, leave Application restrictions as None. Website restrictions won't work for a local file.

Each time you switch to 3D it uses one Google 3D map session (lasting up to 3 hours). Google's free monthly allowance covers a lot of personal use; check the current allowance on Google's pricing page.
